Before there was Hollywood, there was Silver Lake—the headquarters of silent film production in Los Angeles. Learn about the neighborhood’s ties to Mack Sennett, Charlie Chaplin, and Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
Learn about Rudolph Schindler, one of LA’s most famous modernist architects, and experience Schindler’s Manola Court (1926-39), Westby House (1938), and Falk Apartments (1939-40).
Stretching 22 miles from the Pacific Ocean to Downtown Los Angeles, Sunset Boulevard is one of the world’s most iconic streets, and the segment that runs through Silver Lake is a hipster’s paradise of boutique shops and appetizing eats.
